Learn how to create shipping labels manually in Gelato Connect

Updated over a month ago

This article explains how to generate shipping labels in Gelato Connect. While Gelato Connect typically automates this process by selecting the best carrier and creating labels based on factors like package dimensions, weight, destination, and shipping method, you can opt for manual label generation for individual or bulk shipments. This guide will walk you through both methods.

Generating Individual Labels

Follow these steps to create a single shipping label:

  1. Go to Shipments Tab: In Gelato Connect, navigate to the Shipments tab.

  2. Click Create Label: Select the Create Label button and input the package details for the order you're shipping.

  3. Review and Confirm: After entering all the required information, confirm to generate the label for your package.

This process allows you to handle individual shipments manually, bypassing automatic label generation when needed.

Generating Labels in Bulk

For generating multiple labels simultaneously, Gelato Connect offers two CSV templates: one for domestic shipments and one for international shipments.

  1. Download CSV Templates: Download the domestic and international CSV templates and use them to organize your bulk shipment information.

  2. Fill in the CSV File: Fill out the template with order and package details for each shipment.

  3. Upload the File: In Gelato Connect, click Upload File, select the correct template type (domestic or international), and upload your completed CSV file. Gelato Connect will quickly generate labels for all packages listed in the file.

This bulk label generation feature streamlines the shipping process for large quantities of packages, saving you time and reducing manual data entry.
