What is the Customer Shipping Markups Feature?
The Customer Shipping Markups feature allows you to apply a markup to your shipping costs on a per-customer or per-customer-and-shipping-method basis. This is especially useful if you want to reflect different pricing agreements with different clients, all while your own costs with Gelato Connect Logistics remain unchanged.
Where to Find It
Go to the Prices tab in your Gelato Connect Logistics dashboard.
Click on Customer Shipping Markups.
How to Use It
Step 1: Create a New Price Configuration
Click "Create New Configuration"
Select a customer from your Customers tab (located in the top menu)
Step 2: Choose How to Apply the Markup
You can apply markups in two ways:
To All Shipping Methods for that customer
To Specific Shipping Methods (e.g., only DHL Global Mail) for that customer
Method-specific markups take priority over general markups applied to all methods.
Step 3: Set the Markup
Choose your currency
Decide between:
Fixed markup (e.g., +€1 per shipment)
Percentage markup (e.g., +10% of base cost)
Click Save and confirm your settings.
What Changes for You and Your Customers?
You still see the same base rates in your GCL Analytics view – no surprises.
Your customers will see the adjusted pricing with the markup applied when ordering via your connected storefronts.
You can generate cost reports per customer that include these markups, making end-of-month billing and analysis easier.
