In the GelatoConnect Workflow, a print file is called Print Plate. A print plate can contain one printJob or several. Every Print Plate has a unique PrintPlateID.
Ready-to-print files are uploaded to your SFTP during the day, standard is one time over midnight (Monday to Friday, but this is configurable per product and customer). Print plates can be directly sent to print.
All necessary information for printing and finishing is included in the name of the file.
Files are organized based on format, substrate, and postpress activities.

How the files are named is important to easily identify the different plates and automate the transfer from the FTP to the hot folder. To ensure a valid and useful Filename, please follow this guidance on how to name your files. It is critical that you follow these file naming conventions so that the Gelato system can identify what product it is.
