This article provides a comprehensive guide on how to effectively use the reprocess workflow feature, which allows users to resubmit an order through its associated workflow. This feature is particularly useful when changes have been made to an order, such as adjustments to printer configurations or imposition settings.

Accessing the Reprocess Workflow

  1. Navigate to the Manage Orders page.

  2. Select the specific order you wish to reprocess.

  3. On the order details page, click on the workflow associated with that order.

  4. In the top right corner of the workflow view, click the Reprocess Workflow button.

Understanding the Reprocess Workflow

Clicking the Reprocess Workflow button will re-run the selected order through its entire workflow. If your workflow includes a batch activity, the reprocessed order will be added to that batch. The order will then proceed to production once the batch is automatically released or if you choose to release it manually.

Important Considerations:

  • New Print Plate ID: Reprocessing an order generates a new print plate ID for the job.

  • Retained Order IDs: The original Gelato order ID and customer order ID will remain unchanged.

  • Irreversible Action: Reprocessing an order cannot be undone.

Reprocessing an Order

  1. From the workflow execution view, click the Reprocess Workflow button at the top right.

  2. Hovering over the button will display a message indicating that this action will generate a new print plate ID and add the order to any applicable batch while retaining the original order ID. Click Reprocess to proceed.

  3. A confirmation message will appear asking, "Are you sure you want to reprocess this order? This action cannot be undone and will create new print plate IDs for this order." Click Confirm to continue.

  4. A confirmation message will indicate that "The workflow submitted for reprocessing."

Releasing Batched Orders

If the reprocessed order is part of a batch activity, you can monitor and release it as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Workflows page.

  2. Go to the Batches section.

  3. The incoming order will be listed within its batch.

  4. To release the order to production immediately, click Release Batch.

Verifying Reprocessed Orders

To confirm that your order has been successfully reprocessed:

  1. Return to the Manage Orders details page.

  2. You should see an updated status reflecting the successful reprocessing of your workflow.
