Learn about the new Production Configuration module in GelatoConnect, offering control over product steps, machines, and test plates

Updated over 3 months ago

Introduction

We are excited to introduce the new Production Configuration module in GelatoConnect Workflow, designed to give you more control over your production processes. With this new module, you can create and manage configurations for all your products, including defining production steps, mapping them to specific machines, downloading test plates, and more. Currently, this module is available upon request, so please reach out to your Gelato contact if you're interested in accessing it.

The Production Configuration module is organized into different tabs, each representing configuration groups. For each group, you’ll see a list of products on the left, displaying their names along with a configured percentage count. This count reflects the active configurations, total configuration count, and the percentage of active configurations. By clicking on any product configuration, you will get a detailed view of the associated production lines and supported formats.

User Access

All users can create new production lines, while those with specific read-write permissions can also edit or delete configurations. Additionally, users can download test plates to verify and validate the configurations by selecting different production steps.

Main Features

Adding a new Production Configuration

  1. Enter Configuration Details:
You can give your production line a custom name and select its status (active or inactive).

  2. Add Production Steps and Capability Attributes:
Choose from a list of available production steps to configure the new production line. Additionally, update the "Common Capabilities" options, which will be set to default values but can be adjusted as needed.

  3. Add Relevant Formats:
From the provided list of formats, select the ones applicable to your new production line configuration.

  4. Review and Confirm:
After entering all the details, review the information in this final section. If everything is correct, you can confirm and create the new production line. Otherwise, you can go back and make edits.

Editing an existing production configuration

To modify an existing configuration, follow these steps:

  1. Edit Production Steps:

Update the configuration name, status, and production steps as needed. You can also modify the common capabilities and other specific details related to production steps.

  2. Edit Formats:

Add or remove formats from the configuration, then review the updated list of formats before confirming the changes.

Delete an existing configuration

If a configuration is no longer needed, you can easily delete it through the user interface by selecting the delete option.

Download a test plate

To ensure everything is set up correctly, you can download a test plate that reflects your production line configuration. This file can be used for testing and validating the details of the configuration.
